every once in a while i will let my clutch out fully and accelerate and it sounds like im still letting out the clutch and it wont move until the clutch sound goes away (about 2-3 sec)

 

Regardless, I would replace the clutch, slave cylinder, and turn the flywheel when you drop the trans. I would also think about replacing the rear main seal and oil pan if it's rusty...

I did it last fall on the I-6 5 speed 92 I used to have.

i'd do the whole clutch and slave cylinder. thats sounds like the issue.

 

thanks u guys i think im gonna get a clutch kit and a slave cylinder and do pretty much everything scotsho said seeing that i think my rear main seal is going and my oil pan is rusted to **** it may cost more money but it will be worth it in the long run thanks for all your input guys

For a DD Centerforce is way overkill. I have been running a Borg Warner HD in mine for the past few years and I have no complaints. But if you just really want to spend the money either CF or Hayes would be good.

Go ahead and do everything. Clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, T.O. bearing and pilot bearing. It is very frustrating to replace half the system to have the other half go out a few months later. Ask me how I know.

 

i was thinking centerforce but than my dad told me about borg warner which i am leaning more and more to but do you know of any websites or parts stores that sell borg warner clutches for a reasonable price?

Here's the web site I used last fall. Make sure you "upgrade" to the 11" clutch instead of the 10". You will need new grade 5 bolts, but it is worth it for the 20% extra clutch surface area...

 

I want to say mine came from Adavnce Auto. Can't remember exactly though.

Another tip- when it came time to do mine the last time, the flywheel was past being able to be resurfaced. I bought a new one for $20 more than the cost to resurface. Just something to think about.

And yes I agree, upgrade to the 11".
