300 F150 pulling a Jeep?
300 F150 pulling a Jeep?
Hi, I have an 89 F150 with a 4.9 and a 4 speed. I am wanting a truck that will pull my Jeep Cherokee on a trailer to the trail and back, not to far. Do you guys think that this truck will be capable of pulling this. The trucks getting a class IV hitch and an electric brake controler. The trailer will most likely be a 14-16 foot trailer with brakes. What do you think?
THANKS

Thanks guys, I figured it would do it.
I got a 97 Jeep Cherokee its only lifted about 3" right now with 32s, but now that I know the truck can drag it, It will soon be on about 5.5" of lift with 35s. Soon its gonna be long armed and armored to the max.

Not bad.
Long arm kits = amazing ! Just helped my buddy install one on his 4 door Heep Cherokee. I definately prefer the two door.
So, what axles ya got under there ? a D30/D35 combo ? Might wana think about upgrading those before the suspension. Just a thought. Dana 35 wont last long with 35" tires, trust me ! You locked on either end ?
Where is that trail ? Just curious

That is SMORR (Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch) located in Seymour Missouri. Awesome place, 945 acres of trails and an altogeth BA enviroment.
Thats funny, burning. The only thing that burns me is my wallet being pissed at me
Only 2% actually got home !!

Do your part to keep our trails clean, KEEP JEEPS ON PAVEMENT !!

Sorry Rusty, just messin with ya man. I'm a Suzuki Sami kinda guy and have TONS of Heep jokes !

That place does look nice, and looked a little familiar, which is why I asked. But I definately have never been out there. Sounds like you got yourself a plan though. Awesome ! Stick with it and get er done ! One thing I'd suggest, if you can, just go D60 F/R . I have seen too many guys start with the 44... then a year or two later want more ! I say go all out the first time, will save ya money. If ya need any ideas or trying to find parts, PM me. I do this stuff on the weekends for a few people. Good luck bud !
