How do I remove Pioneer AViC D3 unit?

How do I remove Pioneer AViC D3 unit?

Guys,


Bought the truck and had this head unit fitted to the stock speakers.....wanting to upgrade but not sure how to remove the head unit?




Anyone got a clue as to how it comes out?

The main trim bezel pulls off the front of the radio and exposes four bolts then you unplug it from the harness and your done. And that is not an avic d3 that looks like it might be the z3 but I have an a3 and mine does not look like that.

well what the hell u gonna upgrade too? if you want it removed, roll the windows down and drive in the ghetto. they will show u how its done. if you wanna do it yourself. there are quite a few write-ups on how to do it. search.

only upgrading the speakers. One in the passenger door has a problem and pop's so want to change and upgrade and the same time but need the headunit out to do so.....

Not sure about how they are titled in the US but here the unit I have is the AVIC HD3 - II......

I am confused by what you want to do. If you are just upgrading your speakers, then you don't need to pull the head unit. You just need to pop the new speakers in where the stock ones are.

I am also fitting a sub enclosure to the rear and installing an amp. So need access to the connectors on the back of the headunit....

Ya, thats about a 2K HU. HD3 = Z2 OR Z3.

Just pop the trim around the radio off. 6 clips.

Cheers Bud...

Had it fitted when it got over here in the UK as the Sirrius radio doesnt work and I wanted a good Satnav system.

Will pop off the front and have a look see.
