i have a 2" reciever on my truck with what i thought was a class 3 ball mount, the ball mount has a 2" drop with a 2"ball however has a hollow shank. the other day i was helping my friend hook up his trailer and noticed his had a solid shank and he insisted his was class 3 also. which one is class three and i would guess there has to be different ratings for each of them.
