My supercrew had a 4R100 in it from the factory, no question about it. As for your number of what they can take, I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would agree with your torque ratings. A 4R100 in stock form would maybe handle 550. Just look at all the diesels that fry them with just a tuner. Add some hp to a lightning and you've toasted it. 550 is the max i'd say it could take. a 4R70W is much worse off then that. I'd say it could take 400 or a bit more. the 4R70W is a light duty car trans that for sapped in their 1/2 tons. It's not a great trans or even a good one for towing. I can tell you most people would agree so would ford since they went to a 4R75W in their 1/2 tons.
