So does anybody know exactly what the converters do? My simple mind finds it hard to imagine that it does much more than connect the RCA plugs to the correct 3 or 4 wires in the aux connector on the head unit. If thats the case, sure seems to me that it would be dead simple to build my own if there was a diagram for the connector available. Of course I may well be way off base but other than connect a pair of RCA plugs to the appropriate connector on the head unit, what magic do these little boxes perform that make them worth close to $100?
