i want to lop off the end of my shifter and put a skull shifter knob on there, but im afraid i will be stuck in 3rd gear.

when you press the OD button to take it out of OD does it send a signal to the tranny or cut a signal to the tranny, making it go into 3rd?

i went to a junkyard and ripped a shifter off and dismantled it and found the fuse/relay in the end of it with 3 wires running down the shifter.

my skull shifter has a button that makes the eyes light up red. i would love if i could make that my OD button but it uses a battery and im not smart enough to do that kinda battery/fuse/relay stuff.
