gear switch

I think i'm in the right area for this post. I want to upgrade 4.10 gears.

I wanted to know a few things: Where do I buy the gears? How much are the gears? How much is installation? What places install them (i.e. transmission shops?)?

I know nothing about any of this so any information would be great.

Thanks everyone

Rone

Are you 4x2 or 4x4? If you are 4x2, then you only have the rear axle to worry about. If you are 4x4, then you have to change the gears in both axles in order to be able to use 4WD, otherwise pop goes the transfer case.

Is that the price of the gears and installation? Where should I go to get this done, a transmission shop?

yes, that would include parts and install. look around in your area to see who does gear changes. At the worst, you can go to the ford dealership and pay them to do it.
