16X10 rim.....tire size that will fit??

I recently purchased a set of 16X10 centerline rims without fully knowing what I was getting myself into. Good deal that has turned into a PITA. I am hoping I can get a little tire information so I can proceed with the new rims for my truck or just turn around and sell them. I have a 1998 F150 4X4 with no lift. I don't plan on lifting the truck either. I am trying to find a tire size that will fit the 16X10 rim with a 4.5" backspacing without any rubbing issues. I believe the 305r70 MT's radial MTX will fit, although their specs only show that the tire will fit up to a 9.5" rim. MY QUESTION, WILL THE 305r70 TIRE FIT AND FIT SAFELY ON THAT RIM AND ON MY 98 F150?

Yes, they will fit fine. You will have to trim a little bit of plastic off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance. I have some pics in my gallary. Just click the little camera icon by my info.

Thanks for your response. I currently have the 16X10 rims and a set of 285r75 BFG KO's. I was wondering how you got a set of 285r75 to fit the 16X10 rim? I have tried but without success. That's why I was going to try the 305r70, but if the 285 could fit, I would rather not buy new tires..........again.

I didn't have any problems with the 285's. I ran them for almost 60,000 miles with no problems and then sold them. They are essentially a 33x11.50-16 tire.
