I've got on the scale fully clothed and buck naked and it's about six pounds difference.
I don't think it's worth it to take off six pounds.
1- You might get arrested for total nakedness
2- It's still cold on Oklahoma in March
3- Depending on the surface you race on, you could cut yer feet pretty bad.
Why don't you challenge your opponent to a vehicle race and use your truck?
the hitch and rear bumper is heavy. so is the useless exhaust after the cats. the tailgate can go. the tie downs in the bed are useless altho not really that heavy. the entire interior can be gutted cept the drivers seat and some of the dash... running boards if you have them. any lug nut covers. spare tire and jack too
what are you racing against? may not be necessary to lose any weight if it's not even gonna be a competition

mini cooper S shich is supposedly stock, and my 5.4 extended cab fx4 with almost 400 horse, not quite but close to.
see my buddy has a 1970 350 long bed c10 that is all original and stock, and he said he beat this mini. my truck is one of the fastest N/A in town, and according to a quarter mile calculator i should taqchnically win by 1.3 seconds. but im still a little nervous

What mods have you done to your truck?
As far as weight..if you dont tow, pull off the receiver hitch, lose the spare tire & jack, lose the tailgate. Sub and subbox usually wiegh a good amount too. Any tools or crap you have floating around in the bed or cab.
Just start looking over your truck, and anything that you can live without or wont cause a saftey issue if you rip it out, then lose it.
Only thing about pulling something like the hitch, spare, and tailgate is you loose wieght on the rear, so traction issues could be even worse.
