True to both. I thought about letting the dash coolant temp gauge just go dead when I added an Autometer so I could use the tapped hole, but realized that it would bother me to see a gauge at zero, or less. It is not hard to drill and tap another hole.
I'm not sure what this intake looks like.....photos are always nice.
