that golf cart is pimp

 

My buddy in Iowa put a lift kit and some 18's on it that he had laying around. We call in the Big Baller Golf Cart.

So, last weekend I was haulin some firewood to my house from the farm. I pull into the drive way and notice this brand new Tundra in my neighbors drive way. Anyway, my neighbor (and many others) are all out side drooling over this Tundra, lookin at the 5.7 under the hood, talkin about it's power options etc.... I give a friendly wave to my neighbor but other then that, mind my own business and start unloading my firewood. Then he has to go and start talkin trash, "hey Chris, you should think about trading that ole clunker in for one of these" I stop and think to myself, what a tool! This guy drove a Ford truck for years! (some early 90's model) and now that he has a new Tundra, my 02' F-150 is a "clunker". Ironically, after he says this, my only come back is "you stack this much firewood on your tailgate... if it holds up, I may consider" (see picture below). Sadly, that's my only come back, other then that, I got nothing. That truck would run circles around mine, tow more, and you'd probably be a lot more comfortable in the cab while doing it. If I had an equally equipped F-150 (5.4) I'd be more prone to continue the trash talking. His only response to my tailgate challenge was, "I wouldn't want to dirty my new bed rug". He ended up keepin his F-150 to use as the work truck.

Anyway, here is a pic of my truck doing what it does all the time, work, tow, and haul... and look pretty darn good doing it. I've got nothing against the Tundra, just know that my truck is tried and proven. Sadly, he didn't even get my tailgate challenge joke! He hasn't heard of the recall I guess. I ended up going over and checkin this Tundra out and had a beer with the rest of the neighbors.

I have a 2" drop shackle on the truck which did not help with the weight. I have not loaded the truck up that much since then. Now that I have an open 10' trailer I load that up and pull it with the truck.

 

Looks like your truck held that weight with no problems. It doesn't look like it's squatting all that bad considering how high the new body style's bed rails are. Those new F-150's are tough.

I've hauled close to a ton of top soil a few times myself in my truck but she was squatting pretty good. Did it with no issues, just gave myself plenty of braking distance and took all back roads. I ordered a half ton of top soil (since I have a half ton truck) but was amazed at how little was in the bed after the frist scoop, so I told the bobcat operator to throw another scoop in there for me...

 

I dont have a pic just yet but i have a 99 F150 quad cab XLT with the 4.6 Liter and it just goes to show you how good fords hold up. it has 200,000 miles and all original equipment. never been in the shop its whole life except for tires and brakes. it needs a few of the neccesary things like ball joints and stuff im sure but you know what it still drives like the day i bought it. what is so special bout it is that it has spent since Day 1 in the oilfield. Driving down oilfield roads that are rough as all get out. I just thought i would share.
