as far as the generator issues goes, i have read that many aftermarket efan kits have "trap doors" so that air can get through the radiator and by pass the fan when driving at speed but when at slow speeds or when the fan is on, the little flaps shut. or you could just try eliminating some of the shroud so it doesnt cover the entire radiator.

The flaps sound good, but I am also going to put a diode across the motor so that if it freewheels backwards the currant will shunt to ground. I will post how this works. I have seen the flaps on a lot of shrouds for the air passage, I can add those no problem as I designed the hardware on the shroud so that the whole thing comes out in less than 5 minutes. The Lincoln fan only draws 15 amps at 3500 cfm. I believe that is really low, and the soft start controller eliminates any spikes in currant through the system.
