Can you LineX chrome nerf bars?

My '04 SCrew came with the factory chrome step rails (nerf bars) and I'd like to have them LineX'd... is that possible? I've seen nerf bars with LineX, but they might have started off as matte black, which seems like a better surface to attach to...

If so, I'd like to see some pics if there are any out there.

Thanks.

I was actually wondering a similar thing on the factory chrome 17"s. Not only if it was possible to spray them, but also if when the tire lever was used if it would scrape all the spray off the rim.

You sure can!

I had my chrome stockers Line-X'd for $125 including prep work. Came out great:

The dealer had to grind off the chrome finish before applying the Line-X. They're holding up great and look the same as the day I got them done.

its hard to paint/coat a chrome surface but if they rough it up enough to get the product to adhere to it it should come out fine. my uncle had a diamond plate toolbox line-x coated and it still looks great 3 years later.

Those look great, Copenhagen. I'll go to the dealer tomorrow - hopefully they'll come close to that price...

Yep, LINE-X can be applied to chrome. However, I won't apply LINE-X to wheels due several issues.

Thanks Let us know what kind of quote they give you, I see you have the bigger OEM step bars.
