BUT... I have an amber lightbar (for use on the local Base) and 2 red LED lights for when I am enroute to FD calls. I will try to get pics/video of it going. I would like to improve on what I have, but it is a bit cost prohibitive, which leads me to ask you this:
Do you have any idea how much it all costs? A siren+speaker alone is going to run you $200-250 and the lighting can run you anywhere from $50 for something small and cheap all the way up to $2000. Are you really prepared to drop that kind of cash for some scaring your friends? Not to mention it will land you in jail if you EVER get caught.

Moral to the story: If you are not authorized vehicle lights, dont get them. They pose a VERY high risk to you AND those around you.

Did you know that (at least in TX) if you are running vehicle lights and ANYONE around you gets in a wreck it is YOUR fault??!! And, even if you are NOT running the lights, if you get in any kind of wreck and the other person sees that you have them (again, even if they are off), it is your fault.

Do you still want vehicle lights? Go to www.galls.com. I cant remember if they require a Chief's authorization, though. Do some Google searches, and you will come up with some good places.

FWIW-- I am a volunteer FF/EMT/NASAR type II. I have been doing POV response to the station for about a year now, and have experience with 3 fire departments (I haven been at one for the whole time, one simultaneously for a shorter while to help out, and am trying to switch over to another now.) Not to say that I am the expert, but I have seen a LOT of problems due to this sort of thing (even when the lights were authorized but being used inappropriately)

Be safe.
i am fully aware of the laws against them. in texas it is a class d felony if you are caught using them. mine cannot be seen because its just a relay switch that makes it lights flash back and forth.its a little box under my dash. its not like a huge lightbar on my roof. i bought them strictly for off road use for when me and my friends are out 4wheelin. i dont have to worry about wrecks being my fault since i never use them on the road.and since you cant tell i have them unless you break apart my headlights.
