Line-X Color Match VS Bed Rug
Line-X Color Match VS Bed Rug
I have got the decision down to two products and am looking for some guidance. Line-X color match is $599 and Bed Rug is just over $300. Let me first tell you how I use my truck bed. It is for pleasure and the ocasional household chore. I do not use it for work. I am very picky. In my last truck when my Brother wanted to use it to go hunting, he only was allowed to have it if he put down a plastic tarp before he put his dead deer in the bed on top of my then drop in plastic liner. This is one of the reasons I am leaning away fromLine-X. I like the color match idea because I think it would make my F-150 Screw KR look great, but I am a little leary about the process. The guy told me they mix the color in with the Line-X and then spray the bed. Once complete he said they spray again with automotive grade paint. I think this will look great but am worried I will be constantly worried about scratching it. I go tomorrow to see one they have done. If the Bed Rug came in tan I wouldn't even be thinking about the Line-X. I can see myself Line-Xing the bed and then buying a tan rubber mat for the bottom. Am I over doing it in the worrying department?
For the way you use your truck, I would do the Rug. They look great and will be plenty of protection for your usage. Then take the extra $300 and enjoy yourself.

I sell both products and both are good choices.
As far as function goes, either will work for you. If you choose LINE-X and you want to be able to drag things across it, tell the dealer you want a light final texture. Also, be sure the LINE-X dealer is offering your LINE-X Xtra. If you get LINE-X Xtra, I don't think you should be concerned with scatches. Xtra contains a Kevlar micro pulp and is very durable and comes with a lifetime warranty.
Since you're covered either way as far as function goes, you should consider looks. That's a personal preference. Bedrug only comes in gray and you can get LINE-X in any color you want.
Good luck, tough decision!

Have to agree with Truckgasm, you can go either way for your use and I used to sell both only do the Bedrug now (stopped doing sprays a couple years ago).
One other thing is that the Bedrug will protect whatever you haul in it, not just the truck, better than the Line-x.

I went by today and was impressed with the Line-X product. I think it will hold up for my needs, but,,, it looks so durrable that it seems like it would act like a plastic liner given that things would slide around on it since it is so hard. The Rhino liner my friend has in his work truck is mor rubbery to grip things but his problem is that it is schreadingand coming off. Granted his truck is a real commercial work truck. I will keep pondering. You would think those Bed Rug people could be a little more considerate of King Ranch owners and offer tan!
Hey TXTruckMan, I went with the Line-X Xtra and I had the same concern, that it would be slick and cargo would slide around. I have to say I don't worry about it anymore, and the Xtra is one tough coating.
It's a kinda rough texture, seems to hold things in place.
The bedrugs I've seen look very good, but you're right that they only come in that gray color.
Did some tailgate party stuff at a Rush concert last Sunday and got quite a few compliments from strangers on the Line-X.

My truck is white sand color. Can Line-X xtra match that color? I heard to stay away from white because it turns a yellowish color after awhile. Is that true? Thanks
