There's a few tools that make the job easier, and a few that are required. You'll need a power steering pump puller and installer - AutoadvancePepO'ReillysZone will probably rent you one. I find it easiest to pull the pulley while the pump is still bolted onto the engine. The high pressure line comes next, this is the 18mm line that threads into the bottom of the pump. I use a 18mm crowsfoot line wrench to break it loose, since sometimes they're in there pretty good. Remove the supply line from the reservoir, the rubber hose with the spring clamp on it, then three 10mm bolts and you're home free. You'll need a new teflon seal to go on the high pressure line. Stretch it very carefully just enough to fit onto the end of the threaded nut, then spin it onto the nut as far as it'll go. Everything's a cake walk after that. The pulley installer you'll need will have an 8x1.25 thread.

more question
Sorry to reopen this old thread, i have a small question since i am still having problem with the power steering after changing the ps pump( loosing assist at low rpm).
I noticed that in the new remanufactured ps pump kit, there is a new teflon seal and an o-ring. Where does the o-ring goes ? Does it fit in the tip of the high- pressure hose that connects to the pump ?
Thanks in advance

Back From the Dead
Would like to thank Steve83 for posting the info above, as it might have just saved me a lot of money and time. The HP line on my pump is leaking around the nut, just a drop or two, and I was thinking it must be the front seal on the pump (it's making a bit of noise after 215K miles). Could turn out to be the teflon seal leaking.
Question now is, is that seal available separately? I'd like to try that before shelling out for a pump (and fighting to change it out).
