2003 FX4 Rims fit on my '97 F150???
I have a 1997 F150 and am looking for something that is a stock rim and bigger than my 16" rims.
I am not interested in Harley Davidson or Lightning rims (wouldn't look right on my truck IMO)
I think the FX4 rims on 2002, 2003 are 17" ??? I DO know that they look better than my rims. Also there are some King Ranch rims on the Heritage Editions that are bigger???
So does anyone know if these will work?
Also, if the FX4 rims had stock tires would it change my speedometer or does the outer tire diameter remain the same as what I already have?
Thanks everyone!

In 99, I think, Ford changed the wheel stud size. Can't remember from what to what, but it was smaller to larger. With that, you can go with later year rims on earlier trucks, but your limited going the other way.
And the largest factory rim on 97-04 Heritage trucks is the Harley rims which were 20's
Rim size has nothing to do with the speedometer. It's tire size. If you go with a tire that has the same OD as your originals you don't need to do anything. Plus if your only stepping up a size or 2, the error in the speedo isn't large enough to worry about.
Hope this helps

My factory rims are 16".
The tires I have on are 235/70-16
Maybe I'm not wording this right.
Say you have a brand new 2003 FX4 with factory rims and tires. I know the 17" rim I'm thinking of is obviously 1" bigger. I also realize it obviously takes a different size of tire.
The question is: If you were to measure the diameter of my tires and the diameter of these tires I'm looking at, would they be the same. If different how far off would they be?
I'm looking at rims similar to these:

If I just had to use my studs, would the wheel be on there tight and solid?
Sorry for all the questions

Yeah, you just needed to tell us your tire size so we could compare it to the OEM tires from an FX4. And yes, the OEM size (265/70-17) is a good bit taller than your tires. The OEM FX4's came with tires that are almost 32 inches tall. Your 235/75-16's are only 29 inches tall.
And yes, you will be fine mounting those wheels as long as you use lugnuts for a 1997 F-150.

What do the numbers mean 275 = height, 17" = rim diameter but the 70 = ??
I just bought this truck and got it painted. had all the wrong tires on it - I think they took off the good tires and sold it to me like what you see here.
