Post NO HEAT

I have a 97 F-150 and my heater does not work. The blower works fine, and it switches from defrost to floor to dash fine. AC works great just no hot air. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Since I'm not sure if you bought yours used...
Have you checked if your heater core is getting engine coolant. Sometimes when a heater core develops a leak a lazy owner will bypass the heater core, or just disconnect it altogether.

Maybe a disconnect somewhere on the middle **** and the last time the connection worked the **** was aimed at the blue side.

Check the heater core and check the coolent level if its low and you find a leak in the heater core thats most likely your problem.

It could be the blend door as Raoul suggested. This happened on my Escort because the temp control connecting rod was right next to the accelerator and it would get kicked off.

In my F-150, when I use the far right selection **** for the first time in the morning, I hear a banging sound when the air flow selection door moves into position. Something is sticking or there is no cushion or bumper to absorb the shock. Let us know what the problem is when you get it fixed.

I have heard two different things one. Ford screwed up in buinling the blend door too big for the hole causing it to stick to the housing (this could be your banging noise)and the second is that the computer that controlles this system is bad but the dealer does not know the part # to this box. It is behind the glove box and on top of the heater core housing.

Cool

I found out that this is a common problem. It seems that the problem is the quick connect inlet and outlet tubes on the left side of the firewall which heat the heatercore make sure that are connected properly by disconnecting them andb checking for flow. I hope this helps someone.

Well, I was having the same problem, no heat. Checked my anti-freeze level and it was almost a gallon low. Filled er up and wallah, mucho heat. The question is how did I loose that much fluid. I have never seen a leak or fluid on the ground?

Wish I was so Lucky, I've got flushed my radiator twice, still no heat.
