Just curious but what is the approx cfm of the stock fan? compared to the aftermarket setups?
Hi.

That, buddy is the question. Believe me, I've looked. I can't find one single consistently reliable solid figure, so I have only inferences to go on. Example: the TP kit and the MAD kit both run around ~5,000 cfm. Both keep the vehicle properly cooled in all conditions. So, the stock fan has to be at least that rating. I've heard it's even higher at high rpms - as much as 8,000 cfm. Hmmm.

A point I forgot - remember that at speeds above 40 mph or so ( and certainly at highway speeds), none of the fan assist is really required as the ambient flow is enough to satisfy all cooling needs. Stop & go or slow crawl is a different story, of course.

Based upon that, before you go to the dealer (saw your other post) check to see what your a/c cooling is like on the highway. If it's cold enough for you, then perhaps there is no problem except adequate airflow at low speeds & an efan setup will help.

FYI - remember as well, there have been some posts stating that the system (condenser/evap) is undersized for this application (no larger than the previous generation truck), but as in the case of the Supercrew, the vehicle is substantally larger in cab volume & window glass area. Allegedly the next gen will address this issue.

Good luck.

cheers
