sounds like there are several different options.
My A/C is not running to it's potential and someone suggested looking into an E-fan.
Need some help. thanks.

Hi.
The term "e-fans" is slang for electric fans.
you have a ton of options ( partial list):
> Troyer Performance dual fan kits (16" preferred), fans, controllers
> FAL 27x, kit
> Jusnes Modified kit
> MAD Enterprises components or kit ( fan, shroud, controller)
> homebrew - buys fan(s), controller(s) & hook 'em up yourself
> Motorcraft RF86 18" fan
> SPAL controller (soft start), SPAL fans
> DCControl controller (soft start)
> etc, etc
Things to consider (partial list):
> redundancy - two fans, two separate controllers in case one fails
> CFM - do not skimp on capacity or you may overheat
> fan mounting methods - some have had rad core leaks
> reliability of add-on efans versus factory mechanical fan
> add just a helper fan for the A/C condenser; keep the mech fan
> your skill level - this is not for the sqeamish or auto electrical n00b
> warranty implications ( as in denial of same if you have a problem)
> fan quality - Derale & Motorcraft fans are proven quality - others --> ???
As for difference among all the offerings -well:
- They all blow/suck air (sometimes even more air than the stock fan LOL! - but not always).
- They all eliminate the parasitic loss of the stock mech fan.
- They all require robust wiring and exemplary installation practices to be reliable enough for daily driver use.
- They have varying controller types/quality.
- They have different mounting systems
- They vary widely in price
Do some more research - there is a pile of info on his site w.r.t e-fans....
Cheers
