Install a second battery?
I'm thinking about adding a second battery to my system but have no idea how to do this properly. Can someone tell me how to wire it and where to mount the battery. Off the top of my head, I was thinking that a good place to put it would be inside my truck box. Could I then run the power wire through the bed into the cab? Then how do I wire it into the system?

So if I go with the easier "dual battery with no isolator" my alternator will still charge the 2nd battery? Do I wire the positive (from battery #2) directly to my distibution block? So I then would have 2 positive inputs (1 from each battery) to the distribution block and then 1 positive output to the capacitor. Sound right? Also, any suggestion for routing the power wire? Would it still be a good idea to place the battery in my alluminum truck box and drill through the bed and cab? My amps and capacitor are mounted on the back of the cab wall.

Yes it will charge. I've done it in the past on a 88 T'Bird and I just wired the postives of the batteries together and grounded the second battery to the chassis. It works fine that way and it's basically the same thing they showed on bcae1.com.
Far as where to put them, I don't know. There is are battery relocation kit available to put the battery under the truck on the frame and it was too pricey for my taste. I would just get a plastic battery box and a lot of 0 gauge wire with connectors and put it in the bed like you want. Be sure to use fuses on both batteries. Last thing you want to do is fry everything.

Why do you want to add a second battery? If its for extended play with the truck off you will want to use a high power relay so when the second bat goes dead you still have the first to start back up with. If you are havin a power loss problem from your stereo a second battery will only make it worse.
