2002 F150 Super Crew Radio Removal

Hi,
After I take off the dash panel around the radio/cd player, how do I get the unit out? I want to add the SIRIUS bypass unit so I don't have to use the FM transmitter which sucks in my area anyway.

Thanks

U need too push something into all four little holes on the front

There is a special tool for it.

Or you can try using 4 allen wrenches, push in and push sideways away from the radio at the same time and pull radio out.

The tool makes it easier
any stereo shop would have the tool

Question Where did you mount it?

Does anyone have pics of where they mounted their Satellite radio in a 2002 Supercrew? I'm looking to do a clean install, but there appears to be limited options to hide wires, etc.

Thanks

This is what you need to pull that radio out. Stick these in each side in those four holes. Pull the left one to the left and the right to the right and then pull straight out, that radio will slide right out. It is so simple. I actually picked mine up at Pepboys. Unfortunatly my new truck was not as easy to get the stereo out.

A metal coat hanger works just as well. cut the 2 ends off at about 4" from tip to make a nice U.... and is cheaper

I tried the coat hanger and didn't have any luck because there are 2 little notches on the end of the tool. I think I only paid about $5.00 for mine and just keep them in my toolbox.
