I just changed my fuel filter on my 2004, you are going to need the plastic seperator to split the filter from the line, and pay attention to the retaining clip, i snapped the one on the end toward the tank, now I have to either find a new plastic clip or I was told by ford get a new line....


Anyone have any ideas about these clips???

 

If you buy the motorcraft filter , I heard they come in the box.

 

No actually it was a motorcraft filter, they did not come in the box, if you have a 2004 and up you will see what I mean, they got away from those plastic alligator clips, dumb move, but they went to these fully enclosed clips, they suck!!!

 

They made it worse lol - Safty clips and two plastic tools in the box w/Motorcraft - I got a WIX filter this time . Haven't put it on yet , suppose to be good as well , but it didn't come with squat..
