You don't have to work around the A/C system if it's in the way. The entire system can be removed/installed without opening it or losing any refrigerant. Lay the radiator back to get the condenser core out, & split the box beside the R exhaust manifold to get the evaporator core. Then unbolt the compressor & lift the whole mess off the truck. No problem.
