I just got my new truck and wanted to get a spray on liner. I have read all the posts but did not see anyone addressing the slickness of line-x compared with the rhino. my primary transport in the back end will be dog kennels for hunting and i dont want them sliding around. a buddy says rhino since its softer and things wont slide around. but the line-x seems to be more durable over time.

the price for rhino -vs- line-x in my area is $15. I also dont plan on moving for the next 20 years so the warrenty isnt a factor.

can line-x be roughed up a little more to make it less slick? what to do?

 

I have a rubber mat on the floor of my bed.But I already had the mat before I got the Line-X.You can get a cheap mat for about $40.My mat is from Ford and has raised letters w/ F150 on it.It cost around $80.
The main reason I chose Line-X is because it looks better than Rhino Liner.

 

So, I am reading that as it IS slippery , more so than rhino. thanks! anyone else?

 

Whether one is more slippery than the other I suppose depends on what you put on it. The LINE-X dealer can vary the texture from rather smooth to as rough as heavy grit sandpaper. In many cases, the more texture, the better the grip.

I've had several prior Rhino owners tell me that Rhino is VERY slippery when wet. Perhaps others here can substantiate that.

 

Kennels will slide on any spray in... nature of the beast.

The best option is the rubber mat option as stated earlier. Things stay where they were placed.

Also, no spray-on is good at protecting against dents (I'ved had four of 'em, I know), but a runnber mat will do great to protect from dents, while the spray-on protects from scratches and chips.

 

i say go with the rhino, i have had it in too trucks and from what i sw they just hold up better under use then the lin-x liners i have seen

All of them will slide to some extent.
Best bet is to skip the liner and kennel altogether.

Just line the bed with velcro
and put your dog in some velcro underwear.

 

Why not tie down your kennel? Some states require this.

and the kennels will be under a topper soon so no worries about them bouncing out. I currently tie the kennels down in the 2 weeks I have had the truck. but that wont always be the case.

I have looked at the bedrug and like em! but I have a air mattress if I need to get comfy camping in the back end.

I would suggest Line-X, but I am biased as I think it is the best liner in the market, period. I don't want to say Line-X is sticky, but it is firm. Nothing slides in my bed and it is perfect for what I need.
