THinking of buying this reburbished unit from crutchfield. Except, I have a couple of questions.
1. Does anyone have any experience with this particualr unit and/or with a reburbished unit?
2. I keep reading that it can only play DVD's while in park, is there any way to bypass that.

Sorry if these are simple question, but when it comes to wiring I tend to let others do it.

thats true about the dvd only when its park, its a safety hazard issue. Ther are several ways to bypass. you can ground the brake wire, you can connect to brake and push it one click down, you can bypass by using headlight switch, you can bypass by using a bypass module. All these work but only certain will work with your truck and your headunit. Not all are the same so you might have to try several to see which one works for you. You can buy a new one from ebay for about the same price and they are new. I shop with crutchfield before but they are way overpriced.

 

Thanks for the info. The only reason I was using Crutchfield is cause I work for UPS and I get like a 15% discount, and the give you the harness, install kit and something else free.
