my friend had the same problem happen to him and we took it to the glass shop and they said it is common on 97-03 f-150 and they said the only way to repair ir is to replace the window I think you should be able to remove the back window andput a new seal on or use a silocone, at least I would try this first hope this helps

Join the club. My local stealership wants almost $500 for the "new and improved" window, seal and labor.
I've been putting it off for years, now I may as well replace the headliner too, since that is ruined. Oh yeah, high humidity in your truck cab does not mix well with leather seats, breaks them right down. Not to mention the musty smell...Thanks Ford for fixing a problem that has plagued these trucks for 10 years now. Everyone I know with a 97-2005 F150 with the slider window has or has had a leak.

Leaky Rear Window
Same problem as everyone else, I have a 1998 F-150 and fortunatly the only problem I have had with it is the rear window leaking. Its seems like the seal has pop out around the passenger rear window and thats where it is mostly leaking... I believe FORD should fix this problem since most of these year models have this problem?!?

Ok guys, lemme see if I can help your leaky rear window problems.. I was having the oil changed in my 04 FX4 and told the guy at the dealer I was having the same problem. He told me that it was probably the center brake light on top. The gasket around the light was put on poorly and crushed down. Bear in mind he told me this before I even handed over the keys. The only problem is that it isn't covered by my waranty. it was a $35 light and you can't just by the gasket. but if it fixes my problem, then better than new window. So, I spent the money, went home removed the original light and sure enough he was right. Put the new light on and no more leaks. Not sure if this will fix all of your problems but maybe it will help a few. Hope I've saved someone from buying an new rear window.

Help with window motor
Hi guys....They fixed my leaky window on my 04 FX4 with a new gasket too. However, mine has been leaking so long the motor is now broken from all the water. Ford wants $500 to fix it. I could replace the motor myself if I can figure out how to get to it. How do you get behind the seat back. It looks like it should tilt forward, but I can't find a latch. Can anyone help me? Many thanks, Brent.
