How exactly do you install a Line Output Converter? I have a 1000 watt Rockford Fosgate amp and two subs with a stock Head Unit. I cannot afford a new HU at this time so I want to install them using a Line Output Converter. A friend told me that you needed to find the color of the speaker wires and splice the Line Output Converter into them, and then plug the RCA wires into the Line Output Converter.

Is that true, or can you just splice the wires from the converter into any of the wires?

I have a 2001 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. There are two plugs that plug into the head unit. There's a rectangle and a square plug. Which plug has the wires that need to be spliced?
