It sits further back, probably about a 1/4 of an inch do you know if this is normal or fixable? Also when I dim my interior lights the lights on the head unit flash. Is that normal? I installed it myself. I am not sure as to why yours sits furthur back in the dash, as there are a number of ways to adjust the HU to get it to fit just right. I probably tried mine 3 different ways before I got it right where I wanted it. I removed the metal sleeve from around the radio and used the mounting brackets that came with the kit. I also removed the plastic surround that comes on the radio from the manufacturer. You may want to pull it out and try it a couple different ways, but if Circuit City did your install then they probably didn't give you the left over pieces. I would take it back if you're not happy with it. There's nothing retailers hate more than an unsatisfied customer. If you have to just get loud, and mention that you'll tell everyone how horrible their road shop is.
And when I dim my interior lights my HU flashes also. But only when I dim them all the way. I go almost full dim before they flash.
