With all the posts on what trannys are what, or "what do I have" I thought it would be a good idea to make a total list for the full size fords. Just now I wipped this up to start off, but will keep workin. Please post any corrections ya'll see so I can edit.
For the engine listings. I'll break the common bell housing patterns in {}.

Cool. Might want to add, for the 4r70w and 4r100w specifically (not sure about the other ones) divide the tourque by 2 and thats about the most you want to get through them SAFELY. So more like 350 for the 4r70w and 500 for the 4r100w. Many people run more through them (blown people people and such) but thats pushing thier limits.
Otherwise, very cool and nice.

EDIT: All the tranny torque values are determined after the multiplication due to the TC.

You tell me. I have heard this numerous times in the boost forums from the guys that are actually getting power like that. I guess I should say its not their limits, but more of a saftey zone with a cushion.
After 10+ guys in the boost section have told me, I tend to believe them, also considering they know from experience what they can and cant take.
Call me stupid, thats just what Ive been told.

Adrian;
First of all, great thread!!!. Maybe you can help. My '87 F150 4.9L has what I believe to be a three speed with OD manual trans. Door sticker says code B. But for all the info I have so far, it's to late to be a SROD and it also is a iron case with an alum top plate. shifter in the top plate. Looks like a NP 435, and when I went through it everything I bought fro Ford was for a 435. I say it may be 3 with OD because thats what the shifter **** says ( but it may have been changed) The pattern is 1-2-3-4(or OD) with reverse to the right and back. Any light you can shed will be greatly appreciated.......Thanks
