Yup. Gas prices are ridiculous right now and sales are slumping. I would bet that consumer sales for the F150 have slumped just as much and the only thing keeping it alive right now is fleet sales (since most fleet sales just keep buying the same brand every year). Sales are slumping on all trucks right now. If Nissan is cutting production, that is just smart business. Ford, Chevy and the rest should reduce production as well, as full size truck sales are going to continue to decline as fuel prices increase. Simple economics.
Either way, we're off topic. My
personal choice is if I was buying a new truck, I would pick a Titan. I'm a Nissan guy and, as I said earlier, the only reason I went Ford was because the last generation F150 offered excellent reliability and used ones could be found at an excellent price (I got mine in near perfect condition for $15k out the door with financing and less than 30k miles and transferred the 100k warranty from the previous owner). The Titan offers more "balls" than the F150, better steering feel, easier loading, a more responsive transmission, and gives you more for your money, but isn't as quiet or nice inside. I prefer the Titan, so what?
