Fiberglass lid removal

Whats the easiest lid to remove from a truck bed?
I want to get a fiberglass lid like an A.R.E LSX or Leer or Century. Out of the three whats the easiest to remove? (I like to tow my motorcycles back there).
I looked at the ARE and it didnt look to user friendly in this regard.
Thanks for any help on this.

Well, none of them are EASY because they weigh a ton. If you like ARE, you probably will like the Jason Rage.

If you can break away from fiberglass, take a look at Undercover. We sell quite a few of them.

I have a Leer, to get it off you need to disconnect the struts and lift the lid up almost 90 to the bed, definitely a two man job and not to be done on a windly day. The lid isn't all that heavy, just awkward and the rims do not have a lot of strength so you have to careful.

The truck came with it so that's that, but if I were to choose today a roll up cover would be my choice, the hard cover is just too limiting (but it does look nice. I'm putting a cargo rack on mine to make it more useful, Leer says my model with handle up to 200 pounds.

The Undercover is the easiest to take off. I have taken mine off the truck by myself but I don't recommend anyone do it that way. Two people can easily remove it and hang it to be stored on the wall hooks it comes with. It weighs about 60 lbs.

I got an idea to make a couple of supports that would span the box, back the truck under with the lid up, disconnect the lid and lower it down, drive off.

Do a search for Myst's postings on his mods. On his website he had some pics about a lid hoist he made.

I have a low rider hard cover. To remove I get a friend and lift it up remove the gass shocks by knocking them of the tonneau cover mounts. Lift the tonneau up another 15-20 degrees and slide it back out of the locks.

The cover weighs about 80 plus pounds. I also have carpet peaces to protect the back of the cab incase it slips.

Also have a soft tonneau for the summer as the hard is dryer in the winter.
