Tsb 15-0142

Curious if anyone has had TSB 15-0142 to correct harsh or firm 5-4 downshift?

First I've heard of this. I've been focused on my noisy sunroof. - Og

I've actually noticed this on my truck (5.0 4x2), nice to know there is a TSB about it...

Will you be visiting the dealer soon, crazynip? What's the current mileage on your rig? Let me know; I want to do what I can to help.

It's not that big of a deal now. But since you asked, what do I have to do to get it addressed? Just call the service writers at my dealership and say I want to have this addressed? Or is there some other process?

It's a minor annoyance, 7800 miles, I assume I can get it fixed whenever?

Let me know when you're heading in, dnhrdng; I'll notify your regional customer service manager. To get started, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

Hi crazynip,

When you make the appointment, mention the TSB; the dealer will verify that it applies to your vehicle and perform a diagnosis to confirm the concern. TSBs are typically only covered when your vehicle is under the 3 year/36,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranty. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have noticed this on my Lariat. Doesn't really bother me that much though. I hate bringing my truck in for service since they don't offer loaners anymore.

Mine is in the shop now to get this fix and a new windshield which cracked when I used the defroster for the first time. I'll let you know how the TSB works out.

Hi tbraquet,

Loaner availability is at the discretion of the dealership. Do you happen to have an ESP? Some of those plans provide for rental coverage. How many miles are on your truck?

Thanks for offering to keep us updated, jr105. What's the current mileage on your truck? I'll keep an eye on this thread in case you need my assistance.

I just picked up my truck after the TSB fix and the transmission seems better in the little driving I did, however I now have the CEL on. I put my reader on it and it shows P0315, which is "crankshaft position sensor variation not learned". It will not let me clear the code. I'm hoping that this will go away after a few drive cycles, if not back to the dealership.

By the way they refused to replace my windshield under warranty. They said they found a chip. I had it replaced at a glass shop near the dealer and he couldn't see a chip, but in MA glass replacement is covered 100% by insurance. Not worth fighting with them.

They've been pretty good in the past, but I think it's time to try a different dealer once this episode is done.

I got a rock that cracked my windshield, how was the experience with the company you used?

My insurance company wants to use safelite, which I will never use again

The grand total of damage inflicted by Safelite to my truck was $2629.65. Yes you read that correctly. This does not include the cost of the windshield only the body shop fees.
