News Article today about a $7k discount from Ford

I read an article today about Ford offering a $7k discount on certain model/ equipped 2015 trucks. Supposedly with dealer discounts, maybe $10k altogether. I'm not in the market. Just thought I would pass the info along.

It's not as good as it sounds. And doesn't work on Lariat and above.

2015 Ford F-150 XLT
SuperCab 2.7L V6 EcoBoost
w/Luxury Chrome or Sport Pkg.

Get up to
$9,407
in Total Savings

Average Dealer discount based on survey of dealers. Discount may vary; dealer determines price of vehicle. See dealer for price. Total savings includes $2,357 Dealer Discount + $500 Customer Cash (PGM #12768) + $1,000 XLT Customer Cash (PGM #12694) + $300 2.7L V6 EcoBoost Bonus Cash (PGM #12778) + $2,000 302A XLT Luxury Chrome or Sport Pkg. (PGM #97386) + $2,500 Bonus Cash (PGM #12772, #12774) + $750 Ford Credit Bonus Cash (PGM #12770) which requires Ford Credit financing. Not all buyers will qualify for Ford Credit financing. Not available on F-150 Raptor. Residency restrictions apply. For all offers, take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 7/31/15. See dealer for qualifications and complete details.
Take away $1,000 + $300 if you don't buy the XLT with a 2.7L

Take away the $2,000 302A because that is not an incentive - that is part of MSRP.

Take away $750 if you don't or can't quality for Ford Credit.

At the end of the day you're looking at maybe $2500.+/- off + any dealer discount.

Grand Prairie Ford near Dallas is advertising $10,000 off on all F150s. When you get there, the deal may change. They were and I assume still are a Ford owned dealership.

I just hit 95K on Monday and have only had my '12 for 35 months. I was holding out for a newer one with a 10 speed, but money talks...

Read the fine print folks and check the actual window stickers. Like other dealers, GPF inflates the true MSRP to make it seem like you are getting an extra $1000 to $2k off than you really are.

Platinum MSRP inflated by $1000.
http://www.grandprairieford.com/new/...2db08142c2.htm

Lariat MSRP inflated by $1500.
http://www.grandprairieford.com/new/...836b2687e6.htm

XLT MSRP inflated by $2000.
http://www.grandprairieford.com/new/...3e918fe36d.htm

0.9% APR for 36 months on select Ford F-150 models
$1,500 cash back on select Ford F-150 models
$750 cash back on select Ford F-150 models
$500 cash back on select Ford F-150 models
Conquest Offer : $750 cash back on select Ford models
Loyalty Offer : $750 cash back on select Ford models
Military Offer : $500 cash back on select Ford models
Trade Group Offer : $500 cash back on select Ford model
Take away that -$2k that is the MSRP equipment group price from the window sticker. Take away the $500 if not in college or a recent grad. Take away $500 if not military. Take away $500 if not in the trade group. Take away $750 loyalty if not coming off a Ford lease. Not sure about all of the other cash back offers. It's not bad, but not as good as it appears. Also they not advertising "$10k" off on "all" F-150's, but some of them...

It's a classic bait and switch or a media frenzy that upon further reflection has no real substance.

Not sure what the big deal is on incentives. GM was putting $8,000 on their "New" trucks very early in 2014 and have continued to do so. Ram also offers nice incentives. These are all good trucks and unless Ford wants to continue to lose market share, they'll have to do the same. When pick up trucks went north of $40k, $50 and now $60,000 brand loyalty went out the window with common sense.

I just bought a 5.0 XLT extracab with a trailer package and a bunch of other bells and whistles.

With the package discounts, Ford incentives and dealer discounts added together I got it for $10k under the original list price.

If you count the package discounts on the sticker ($1,500) plus the Ford incentives and dealer discounts it was $10k. Just over $44K knocked down to just over $34k.

FOR DISABLED VETS.

You can use the promo code DAVET under the ford partner website and see real savings. I bought my truck last August and otd for a 14 supercrew 4x4 5.0 HD payload was 38. You can use available incentives on top of x plan pricing. I saved a total of 9500.
