Shuddering at low speeds/RPMs?

Is anyone else experiencing a significant amount of shudder, on smooth roads, at low RPMs or during acceleration from a stop?

Going to debug the tire balance first, but I'm beginning to think it's a transmission or engine shudder.

How's the troubleshooting going, FlyingSquirrel? If you still have the shudder, let me know and I'll alert your regional customer service manager. PM me your details (full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and preferred servicing dealership) so I can get this pushed up the line.

Thanks, our service manager is looking into it. We're troubleshooting this in the right order:

1. Tire balance
2. Drive shaft alignment
3. Engine shuddering (check that the CAC fix is working,e tc)
4. Brake calibration (make sure that the ABS isn't doing something weird since I get a shudder on braking as well).
5. Suspension alignment & shock installation (make sure that nothing is uneven or torqued wrong at the struts).

Verdict here? I think I am beginning to feel one too but was not sure if the lift and wheels were causing this...

I'm not having anything like this in my 2014 EB. Squirrel, you seem to be having MORE than your share of problems with your new truck! Hope they get resolved soon.

Not yet. Going in again on Wednesday to fix my broken glove box + try rebalancing the tires again.

I would have the techs checking out the front harmonic balance. That's obviously a rotating mass out of spec. Checking brakes, tires, etc is a waste of time. Yours wouldn't be the first new engine with a bad balancer.

It looks like transfer case mount or engine mount might be bad - worth to check.

I remembered when i had a jeep wrangler its lot of shudder at taking off…turned out its transfer case mount is bad.

ALso look at muffler shaking, maybe thats the part that causing shaking ?

It seems like if you have a problem vehicle, it's not just one item 😟. I hate to hear that you are having issue.

That's not his truck and it isn't even a 2015. Nothing to see here unless he provides more info and it may even be normal operation for a truck as he is new to trucks. All trucks have some shudder.

I'm in agreement with Rambo, which is why I asked. The techs are only just now looking at it and everyone I've talked to thinks the tires might need to be balanced. It's a really weird shudder because I'm not losing power nor am I experiencing loss of handling. It's not suspension reacting to road ruts because I tried it on a perfect football field sized paved area that I've done autocross on with many vehicles. It just _happens_ and not anywhere near where I'd expect to see issues with engine power or transmission delivery of that power.

Will report back when we find out more.

Check the slip yoke. That has caused shuddering issues on Ford trucks for years.
