Anyone else have this issue with the leather seats?

Truck only has 3k miles on it, seems this shouldn't be happening as this has never been an issue with any other vehicle I've owned and especially since they were touting how "rugged" the new seats are. I beg to differ...

Looks like some kind of coating that is wearing off.

I'm on my 3rd leather Lariat and I haven't noticed that happening but maybe it did as mine have been either lighter grey or the tan color which might disguise it.

I recommend making an appointment at your dealership so they can get your seats documented and diagnosed, Paragon1. Additionally, let's loop in your regional customer service manager. To make that happen, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll push this up the chain.

It's at the shop now and Autumn from ford customer care has been working with me. Not trying to smear the brand. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.

Thanks for the quick response, Paragon1! You'll be in great hands with CSM Autumn, but if there's anything else I can do to help, don't hesitate to give me a shout.

My 2013 F-250 started to crack at 20k miles. Took it into the Ford dealer at 37k because it finally opened up and they told me it wasn't there problem anymore. I now know to never buy a Ford with leather again.

Anyone figure out what it was yet? Some conditioner or something left on the seats?

One of the reasons why I hate leather in vehicles and would never buy it. Its usually fake, threads separate, gets hot, etc. Hope that gets figured out for you!

My '02 Lariat seats are not real leather. It seems a lot of companies are using some junk they call "German" leather, etc. For me, I'll take real TEXAS cowhide please.

Ummm, why didn't you take it before the warranty ran out?

Kinda looks like the leather is rubbing the plastic and the plastic is turning into fine dust.

Just curious if you have & use sidesteps or do you "slide" in and out of the seats?

Please post updates with what the shop says and how they remedy the problem! Thanks!

Thanks for that leather lesson video, Squirrel. I want the full grain, the whole hide.
