Has anyone gotten a chance to compare these side by side? It seems random what brand the factory puts on trucks (this year it looks like Goodyear Wranglers), but I never got a clear answer on the LT vs. non-LT option on the same rims.

 

Do they only change from a P-metric to a C-rated LT tire?

I run E-rated on mine so I don't bother paying extra but they might be worth it for someone that could use the load increase, traction, or heavier tire carcass.

 

??? Why on earth do you put E rated tires on a 1/2 ton? A XL rated tire can hold more weight than either of your axles. All that extra capacity is of no use but kills your mileage, acceleration and braking performance.

 

WOW, with E rated tires and 80 psi , your truck must ride like it has cement tires. I air my goodyear wrangler 275-65-R18 to 50 psi when I tow. I bring them right back to door sill recommended psi as soon as I get home. What a harsh ride you must get with E rated tires.

Some of it depends on size. The Goodyear Wrangler Duratec is SL rated at 275/65R18 and E rated at 295/65R18.

I have 295/60/20 trail grapplers (no I don't run them at 80 psi). They are E rated. I can't get Goodyear Wranglers in that size. Same size in terra grapplers or KO2 would still be E rated. They are noisy but I do not find the ride much different than stock, other than they work better than the stupid Pirelli Scorpions on and off road.
