Much easier to replace the back of a truck, than your own back........

i agree the damage is extensive for that speed, but as i stated on that road its impossible to be going much faster, unless he was airborn half a block away. You would think if he hit the incline that fast he wouldnt be looking at his phone still.

Looks like the forerunner took the hit high and the F150 looks like it was hit on the upswing. Could be the guy was flying, hit a woopdeedoo and came down hard right behind the truck and hit it low. I bet his cell phone still works. I wonder if he snapped pics for Instagram?

Ouch!

Luckily the owner of the truck wasn't in it.

I hate it for the owner though... probably hasn't driven the thing a full month, let alone made the first payment and now it's totaled

Hope the kid texting (or at least the parents) have real good insurance.

I wonder what they totaled it for...could make a mint in parts for sure. I'd punch that kid in the face and blame airbag. Nice 4runner too. Damn shame

Back in the high school days 40 mph would launch the ranger with all 4 tires off the ground

LOL! Nope! He probably slowed down for the SB but then RACED down the street in order to make up for lost time! I've repaired a lot of wrecked cars and that is NOT a 35 MPH collision IMO! I'd say 60 MPH. I'd like to see what his black box says!

Using a phone in a car is against the law here. If anyone even brushes me while using a phone, I will make sure I own them for the rest of their lives.
Ya'll need to get some cell phone laws passed there.
A few years ago, in San Angelo, a girl was texting and run through the median and killed a guy on a motorcycle. She only got a ticket for leaving her lane. She should have gone to prison...........

I WISH they would outlaw using a cell phone in a car here but it's not going to happen. The Cell phone companies have too big of a lobby. Here in Florida they finally at least outlawed texting while driving but plenty of people still ignore that law and I've yet to hear of anyone being ticketed for it. I suppose we should be grateful that the alcohol industry doesn't have as good lobbiests as the phone companies!

Years ago I was driving home from work and there was an older guy driving a Dodge truck and texting. He was all over the place and only doing 40 MPH on the highway. I got next to him at one point and could see him texting away. I honked but it did no good. He was that distracted. Some guy in a jacked up Chevy eventually got close enough and blasted him with his train horn. This wasn't a dinky knock off either, it was the real deal. The guy in the Chevy had the good sense to not be too close too because the guy freaked out. He accelerated to WOT, then slammed on the breaks and almost hit the median wall under an overpass swerving to over-correct for no reason. Thankfully people were avoiding him because he was that bad so nobody got hurt but I bet he changed his britches when he got home. People can be so stupid.
