I'm kinda tired of reading comparisons at this point, but the perfect truck (minus the exhaust notes of the 5.0 ) has presented itself.

Every option I would have selected on a custom order was there, and there's enough respect online for the 2.7 that we're going to put our faith in Ford and give it a shot. Wish us luck! The deal isn't done yet, our salesman has to convince the other dealer to give up their truck for a beautiful crew that he has on the lot. Shouldn't be tough since most everyone seems to be after crews.
SWEET!

I seen ye e'en tried on the High Bubber speak fer a second thar. They's hope fer this feller yit!

Let us know what you think of the 2.7. I'm sure yer gonna love it.

so it starts out as between the 5.0 and the 3.5, not sure on the 3.5 because it is a turbo, smaller engine and not as proven. (been out what 4 years)

end of the day desides on the brand new, unproven at all 2.7...allllll righty then.

The 3.5 EB has been out since 09 in some models.

That was quite a turn of events. I'm interested in getting feedback on how the 2.7EB does in customer's trucks. The demos and press seems to like it quite a bit.

You make a good point! I finally got tired of reading, and changing my mind and this one matched the options I wanted. Ford did a lot of testing on this engine so we'll give it a shot (although I may just buy an extended warranty that I NEVER buy).

It isn't over yet however, I still haven't heard back from my sales guy so either he's busy or it's not a good sign. Time to give him a call and see what's up. If he's not able to dealer trade for that one, it's back to the drawing board. :-/

Fer what they charge fer the extended warranty, you could opt fer a truck with one of the other engines that's equipped like the 2.7 truck yer eyeballin'.

Something to think aboot...

Don't buy the extended warranty from the dealer...they will gouge you! Several places online sell them, at a much better price. Just make sure you get an actual Ford warranty and not a 3rd party.

I'm sure he would if he could find one. I don't think he has time to factory order one.

He has up till the expiration of the factory warranty to buy an extended - in fact, you can buy one after expiration with a vehicle inspection.

Right. So he should settle for what that one dealer has then. Makes sense.

Unless he lives in BFE, he could locate one with a different engine fairly easily and quickly. They're not as hard to find as they were even just a month ago.

Sounded like he felt like he was settling a bit because that's what the nearest dealer had. Also, he seemed a little less than confident since he mentioned the extended warranty. Just giving another option/opinion.

Hell fahr, I'd rent a car until I found what I wanted before I'd settle.

Also and the cost of the extended warranty you can fix a few good priced repairs, and keep your money in the mean time. The truck would have to be a total POS to break even or "make money" on the policy.

It sounds to me like he's fussy about the configuration and other options - and there aren't THAT many out there yet. I think he's looking for a Scab, not a Screw. The dealer here has 151 new vehicles in stock and exactly 3 of them are 2015 F150's, all 3 are 4wd Screws, 2 with the 2.7 and one with the 5.0. They have 34 leftover 2014 F150's.
