UPDATE: in a televised interview on Fox Sports, AutomobileMag's Joseph Capparella claims that Ford global product development vice president Raj Nair let the cat out of the bag: 450 horsepower. That's it!

Improved MPG + Superior Power Band(Torque curve) + Increased driving Range + 3.0 Shocks + 500lbs lighter is far greater than any 6.2 Exhaust note, seriously.

I've owned an F150 Ecoboost and a F-150 5.0 for years, no comparison, Eco boost wins hands down in every caseI would use it for.

I can understand why ford chose the ecoboost for the new raptor, I just wish they would have made a larger displacement eb just for the raptor. The current 3.5 eb is a revision of the the old 3.5 v-6 that was in everything from taurus's to explorers to fusions a few years ago and it made around 260 hp. The eb version gets better internals and direct injection heads and a pair of turbos. The 3.7 v-6 used in the mustang, the edge sport and the 150's is just a larger version of the old reliable 3.5 v6 with Ti-VCT heads. Why can't ford just make the 3.7 into an EB engine and see what kind of power you can get out of it and drop that into the new raptor.

I also didn't understand the OP's line of at least as much horsepower when Ford had previously stated it would have more horsepower and torque as a minimum. I also didn't understand the OP in another post when he said it should have the Super Duty's 6.2L V8 when that one has less hp and torque than the current Raptor and less torque than the current EcoBoost. I also didn't understand the OP in another post when he said the F-150 should have received the Lincoln Navigator EcoBoost when they are the same EcoBoost. The OP is not researching what he is blogging about and I guess he is all about quantity over quality like Marcus Slater and his over 1,200 blog posts...
