No. The 2.7L EcoBoost is better in every way and it is fairly inexpensive.

It doesn't have the forged internals that the 3.5 EB has though, does it? I wonder how much they have in common.
The 3.7 was pushrod (right, didn't somebody say that?) and the new 3.5 is new fangled tekno-ology. Chevy was been able to keep pushrod motors viable and competing for way longer than Ford.
Also, I just read that the 3.7 only accounted/accounts for 15% of the market share.

Either way, the engine in the '15 F150 was going to need to be updated. May as well update the 3.5L and use the smallest engine possible that will do the job and eek out just a tad bit better MPG. Due to the smaller bore size, I would surmise that the 3.5L is slightly less expensive to produce than the 3.7L.

Yup, that's right. Can't wait to see that 5.2 Voodoo. Really want to see what they do for the new GT500 though.

There is still plenty of use for the base engine in a reg cab short wheel base 4x2 it wont be too bad for the lack of power it has. The one thing I don't like about it is that it has less power than the base engine from the 2011 to 2014 years. The base engine would fill my needs for what I use my truck for as its my daily driver I drive back and forth to work. I just like the extra power I can get from a bigger engine or even the smaller 2.7 Eco boost.
