Finally! A salesman who actually knows his product. Here's a reenactment of every conversation I've ever had with a Ford dealer:

"Yep. That there's a pickup. It's got an engine. Tons of power! Not like those silly nannies over at Chevy. It'll pull yer house down and get yer groceries! Say, have you seen the new Focus? 36 mpg! Come on and take a look. You don't really need a truck anyway, right?"

That's every salesman period

Nah, ours aren't that bad. Lots of idiot 20 year olds that sell cars like that though.

Haha. I suppose most buyers don't know the intricate details of each model year like those of us here do. But it's astounding how little effort these guys put into knowing what they're selling.

I agree. Some of my good "work friends" don't know much at all about cars, even ones that have been selling for up to 40 years, because you really don't need to know a thing about cars to sell them. But then they come to me when a customer actually wants to know something, and I like answering questions, so that's fine with me.

Just wanted to say the 2.7 is not available on King Ranch. It's for the Lariat non-luxury and on down. Also it's not available with 4x4 157" and 163" WB. If you want the 2.7L on a fully loaded truck, petition Mike Levine and Ford to expand it.

Ford needs to bring back the old-school Castano leather interior. Those of us that had early KR's are SPOILED by that interior. The current KR's simply do not hold a candle to the KR's of yesteryear (strictly from an interior 'boutique' trim level).

New KR leather is kinda crappy now that it's not completely bare (or at least it seems coated and thinner). But the 10th gen leather was also a PITA to maintain, so . . .

I ordered the new F-150 King Ranch

Drove the KR that Ford was showing off at dealerships. Loved new combo color and interior. Ordered one loaded, v8, chrome pkg. Most options. Waiting patiently.

Congrats on taking the plunge, oldoug! Send me a private message (PM) with your order number and dealership name/location; I'll give you weekly updates on your rig's progress.

I absolutely love the '15 King Ranches. I think they got the color of the leather perfect this year.

Any idea on how long the lead times are on these trucks? I ordered a platinum w/FX4 package fully loaded about a month ago, I haven't heard anything yet. Not even as much h as a vin#.

Hey Kevin,

The typical wait time on an ordered vehicle is 6-8 weeks, but a lot of different factors are at play. Send me a PM with your order number and dealership name/location and I'll be happy to provide your truck's status.

Crystal
