Yup, Ford is still crushing Chevy...

According to this post on the HP, for the month of Feb, the score was Ford 65,956, Chevy 50,504. And GM is even cranking out the incentives. You have to wonder what Chevy would have to do to knock Ford off the top spot...

The GMC is basically the same truck and those sales added to the Chevy sales and GM outsold Ford.

That's an interesting point. I'm going to take another look at those numbers.

And Ford typically says "F series" is the best selling truck, and combines F150, F250, etc

Same difference.

GM has the Silverado which combines Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500 and 3500 chassis cab. Sierra does same.

Silverado + Sierra beat F-Series in February, but F-Series is still beating Silverado and Sierra combined for the year.

In January, F-Series beat the combined totals of Silverado, Sierra, Colorado and Canyon. Because of that GM increased incentives by a very large margin last month...

GM Dials Up Profit-Sapping Pickup Discounts as Rivals Gain
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-on-truck-turf

"Incentives on GM’s models surged 56 percent and 82 percent, respectively, from a year earlier as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Ford Motor Co. dialed back their spending, according to the researcher."

GM spent 26 percent more in discounts on each Silverado truck than Fiat Chrysler paid per Ram and 85 percent more than Ford allocated for F-Series, according to the Power Information Network data...

Yes GMC and Chevy are basically the same. But, dumping GMC (if they ever did) doesn't mean those buyers will flock to Silverados. I had an uncle who bought nothing but GMC because he hated the Chevy styling. He actually strayed from GMC and his last 2 trucks were F-150's. And as mentioned GM is practically giving them away. smh......

GMC light truck division is not going anywhere. It was created to allow non Chevy branded GM dealers an avenue to sell trucks.
