SSM 45394 - 2015 F-150 - Exterior Door Handle Inoperative And/Or Power Door Unlock Inoperative
Some 2015 F150 vehicles may exhibit an exterior door handle that does not release the door latch and/or a power door lock that is not unlocking with key fob or the interior unlock button. If any of these concerns are present and normal workshop manual diagnosis leads to a handle, latch, or cable replacement, be sure to inspect the exterior handle cable for correct routing and attachment prior to replacing any components. A properly routed cable should sit in the rearward pocket of door handle near the part tag. The cable arrow-head retainer clip should be fully seated and locked into the exterior handle bracket.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES
2015 TRUCK: FC P552 F150
2015 TRUCK: 00029 F-SERIES LD

Send me a private message with your VIN, odometer reading, full name, phone number, and name of the dealer where the parts are on order. I'll see what I can do to speed up the process.

Thanks!

FROZEN POWER LOCKS 2015 F150 Sport

HI...

i live in NL canada and bought a new 2015 F150 sport tow months ago and only have 2000 KIlometers on same and last week it was -5 and driver rear door froze up and would not work with remote or driver door buttons. made appointment with Garage and they indicated they have seen several with same issue. later that day weather gor warmer and door worked fine. next day froze up again so i went to dealer. they took it all part and fixed it. worked for few days then guess what....went to get in truck this morning at 8am and temperature was -7 and rear driver door would not lock or unlock and this time i opened up the driver door as well fine but then it would not shut. for some reason the latch on driver front door would not latch. had to leave fron driver door un latched. later that morning it warmed up again and guess what all worked well. going back to the garage again tomorrow. really have a safety concern at this point. see lots of other people have same problem. your comments welcome

Same thing here... 4k miles and anytime there's snow that may melt and freeze, some door locks quit working... very aggravating. It must be poor routing/placement of cables or components that make it vulnerable to water that drains from the windows and then freezes up.

Will be talking to the dealership today, we'll see how that goes.

Welcome to the site, CinMN; I'm glad you're bringing this to the attention of your dealership. If you'd like, I can arrange for your regional customer service manager to reach out to you. To make that happen, send me a private message (PM) with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

Still waiting for parts to arrive at dealership. Both back doors not working this morning but of course its -17 degrees out. I should'nt expect doors to work when its this cold. Been over 5 weeks now waiting on parts.
Have to throw my 3 year old granddaughter in through window and see if she can strap herself in car seat.

Just a little up date, been a month and a half since I started this thread, I did absolutely nothing about the issue and have had plenty of cold and warm days and since the first two weeks of locks freezin and one instance of the rear SC door lower latch not catching all of the issues have gone away, has anyone else had the same luck?

Just picked up my new 2015 f150 today and the passenger back door will not open. I am not happy. Service dept says they are having this problem and will take it apart and fix it.I think that this is a temporary fix and they are only fixing that door. They said that they are waiting to hear from ford about replacing all the locks but can only blow air (to get moisture out) then grease the mechanism.
Should I try to get them to replace locks ? Or at least do all the doors ? Not happy about having to bring it back to dealership as i live about 35 k from it !!! Have not driven a ford in 25 years but thought they improved. Not starting on the right foot. Some may not think this is a big deal but when you live in Canada it is a huge issue. It is not safe !!

sorry to hear about your troubles but there are many people in the same situation and i am one of them. my vehicle has been in garage twice and they completed TSB on vehicle on both front and rear driver doors and to date i only had one incident since and there have been many ocassions when temperature was below ) and doors did not freeze up. dont know if it is the TSB that fixed it or not. i can only assume it did. i am monitoring it closely and have a CSM with Ford canada looking into same. the latest TSB is 15-0052. good luck
