To be fair, the 2nd Gen Rangers were going on 18 years on the same basic platform and had gotten a little long in the tooth compared to the rest of the truck industry that evolved past it.

Back in the late 1990's and mid 2000's, anything above 20 MPG in a truck was doing good.

I went out of my way to get a truck WITHOUT the console. I'm a big/tall guy and pretty much everything I test drove had the console. My knees dug into it, and my wide frame fit better with a little extra room, I just wasn't comfortable. But to each their own. Seems like an easy mod.

Yeah, the 3.7 V-6 in my 2012 F-150 work truck has 201,000 miles on it and never had a problem with it.

Replaced water pump at 160K
