2015 3.5L Non ecoboost engine
#16
Going to a 3.5 gave them the ability to use the exact same engine across multiple platforms with more efficiency.

The 3.7 is mean. A coworker of mine bought a 2015 Mustang 3.7/auto bone stock and after breaking it in good off to the strip.
13.6 ET at 101 mph.......that's MEAN.

The 3.5 was actually first. Production began in 2006 for the Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, and Lincoln MKZ. The 3.7 is a bored out 3.5, stroke is the same. The Gen 1 3.5 Ecoboost is essentially the same engine with turbos and direct injection.
They are all in the Duratec family.

I like the new vinyl seats Ford has.
If I were to get another truck, it would have vinyl seats, and the vinyl floor.
I've got Wet Okole's and the vinyl floor, and I never have a worry. It is so easy to clean and so sanitary. I will never buy another truck with a carpeted floor.
I'm just a clean freak sometimes..... haha

I used to always buy trucks with carpet flooring to deaden road noise, but this truck is so quiet....it is as quiet as a pre zombie morgue.

The Mustang and all the others have gone back to the 3.5

"I have only one complaint, this monster doesn't fit in my garage. LOL"
i have the same issue. I have a garrison garage. It's about 1/2" too short. I also had a round rhino carport. It's 20x10 and 8 feet tall. I can't open the door all the way but it works. My other option was a Tacoma but after driving the Ford it was little contest.

Now I can get that regulation pool table I always wanted!

2016 F150 3.5L non ecoboost engine
Just purchased a new 16' F150 Supercab with "Sport" package in October and the 3.5L V6 non Ecoboost engine has been great so far. 282 hp and 253 torque is plenty for my light duty work and transporting my bike. Just hit 1,000 miles and mpg has been between 17 - 18. In the manual, it actually states do NOT measure fuel economy in the first 1,000 miles because this is the break-in period (on page 179). "A more accurate measurement is obtained after 2,000 mi (3,200 km) to 3,000 mi (4,800 km)." Also, I drive mostly city and like 10% freeway.
