Center console seat belt locked

My seat belt on the center console seat is locked, now I can't flip it back up.
Any thoughts?

Dealer said to bring it in but I am going to have a tough time finding the time to go there.

I hear you had the same headache regarding a scratch on window, my best suggestion tell them to work with a local dealer, if not have them set up an appointment and have someone else take it in for you. Hopefully someone owes you a favor and can help you out with this.

I agree with your dealer, kozmic1520; I'd get the misbehaving seat belt into their hands. What's the current mileage on your truck? I'll investigate options to help.

9,000 miles or so. The dealer is an all day project. Or so it feels. It's not often I have the time to drive 20 miles, wait for hours... OR have my wife drive 100 miles to drop it off and another 100 to pick it up.

Thanks for responding so quickly, kozmic1520. Keep in mind that you can have your truck serviced at any Ford Dealership you like. Is there one closer to you that you can visit? If you need help finding some local options, enter your ZIP code here: http://www.ford.com/dealerships/locate When you're ready to have this looked at, PM me your information and I'll loop in your regional customer service manager. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

I have an XLT that I picked up on tuesday and have the same problem. The seatbelt for the center seat is locked and won't release, so I can't raise the console. I'm out of town now, but will be contacting the dealership when I get home.

Thanks for the offer of help Crystal. I'm currently on vacation, but I did phone the dealership and have decided, since it's not crucial to have it fixed quickly, to have it dealt with when I go in for my complimentary first oil change.

Speaking of the flip-down console, is it supposed to lock down? Mine locks in the up position, but not in the down position... is this normal? I was thinking my 2005 locked down, but I rarely used it, since it wasnt really functional, just more or less an armrest

Hi crazynip,

I didn't see anything in my research materials that specifically mentioned locking. Hopefully some other folks will chime in here and tell us if their consoles lock. If you have a maintenance appointment coming up at your dealer, I know they'd be happy to look into this for you.

Happening A LOT

I work with a bunch of these new F150s. I would say half of them need repair before they hit 20,000 miles. I have seen at least 10 with this concern. I smell a recall.

Crazynip, my 13 does not lock down, nor would I want it to. Unless the 15 has changed, you're normal.
