Ford Atlas Concept Truck

Same Here just heard that Ford is adding 400 jobs to make a total of 700 jobs at there cleveland engine plant to build the 3.5 v6 ecoboost engine. Greatful for the jobs you can have the engine ... hope they put a diesel engine as an option. I love Ford trucks but if ecoboost is only engine its a deal breaker!!!

I've been driving diesels for about 15 years, and logged a lot of miles. I'd gladly take an EcoBoost as for daily driving it beats the snot out of a smoker. I need a truck, though, and an F150 doesn't come close for pulling a 10k trailer... even if it had a small diesel. The numbers don't add up with a family in the cab for a camping weekend. I love the Atlas, but as long as I camp, the F150 won't be an option.

Yep, but there are varying levels of "camping".
But hey, I still cook outside and spend plenty of time outdoors. I can just sleep in comfort, stay dry/cool/warm when I'm not outside. Not to mention, the wife stays happy with all the creature comforts of home.
To each their own!

I don't mind the V-6, but they need to up it to a 4.0L or so and de tune it ,less boost, single turbo whatever to keep the HP and TQ about where it is in the 3.5 giving it a real world fuel economy edge. The 3.5 just seems too high strung and "maxed" out in this heavy of an application and the MPG's just aren't realized by most. It's like the 2.0 in the Explorer. On paper it seems like it will work, but running a turbo hard to get the desired performance is not a mpg enhancer. I would love to see a 5.0 EcoBoost also. Even being mild in the tune it could be 425hp and 450tq easily.I think I read where Ford is saying 500-700lbs weight reduction and 20+% fuel economy gain is the goal........

I agree with that... to me though, it screams DODGE. I really like to stand alone as a truck owner -- while I know there are a blue million F150's out there, if I wanted the look of a Dodge, I'd go with their truck.
Stand alone on the rear bumper, Ford!
Awesome looking truck otherwise... in fact, I've been drooling over it since I saw it.

I think we will see New Atlas in 2017. it's hard to say, but after Bronco and Ranger official news, I think Atlas will not be just a rumor!
