2.7 SC Sport with 3.31s on stock 18's **MPG**

Took a trip down to Key West with my 2015 2.7 Supercrew XLT Sport 3.31 gearing and stock 18's running on 87 pump gas. I ran her from 40mph to 70mph and up to a couple of 90+mph on the passing lanes. I managed to get 30 mpg!!!! That is freaking amazing for a full size truck loaded with 3 adults! Good job FORD!

That is really good for a full size truck.

The EPA ratings for your engine are 19/26 so that display can't be even close to accurate. Figure your fuel economy the old fashioned way. Now if you drove down hill the entire 121 miles it might be true.

One tank my display showed my truck getting 28 mpg but it was really 20.6.

I'm skeptical. Especially in the summer time here in Florida. Best mileage I got was a long trip from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale in the winter. Empty, cruise set at 75, got 24.5.

I will get 21 or so in the summer time.

The 2.7 is going to have to work harder than my 5.0 running the air conditioner, and with 3 adults, what do you all weigh 100 pounds?

I am very skeptical... plus that's only after 4 gallons.

Mine averages 2.02 gallons per hour of operation It seems to do quite well when you are averaging below 50 mph with no starts and stops.

My burn rate is close to 2.5 gallons/hour in a 2012 Lariat Supercrew 4x4 after 130K.

If my foot wasn't so heavy I'm sure it would do better, but have mercy on the skinny pedal when the size 16 gets tired.

Who averages below 50mph though...

Outside of some desolate places in fly-over states, where can you drive 50mph without being in someone's way?? I mean, non-interstate driving.

Real world driving conditions (70-80mph), you aren't getting that kind of mileage

As the OP stated, Key West. 50 would be a great average speed to that location.

I just got a 2016 XLT SuperCrew Sport 4x4 2.7 Eco 3.55 gears and have run through 2 tanks of gas. I'm at 4,400 feet elevation, temps in the 70s half city/hwy and I've averaged 430 miles per 21.5 gal fill up. Right about 20mpg total. I'll be moving to FL and doing much more hwy driving so I hope for a slight increase but 20mpg isnt bad overall IMO.

2016 XLT SPORT with 3.55 axle. I average 23.5 mpg consistently going back and forth to work all summer. 75% highway use and I normally drive 70 mph on the interstate.
